On the afternoon of April 6th, Professor Guo Xueyi, a member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President of Central South University, was invited to give a special academic lecture on "I Love Metallurgy" for international students of the college. Chen Ailiang，Vice Dean of SME presided over this lecture.

Professor Guo Xueyi delivered this lecture in full English. He vividly interprets the historical evolution, current development status, and future challenges of metallurgical engineering from the perspectives of the origins of pyrometallurgy, hydrometallurgy, steel smelting, and gold smelting, as well as the relationship between metallurgical technology and human civilization, opening up the enlightenment path for students to study in the field of metallurgy.

During the lecture, Professor Guo Xueyi encouraged international students to cherish learning opportunities, study hard, and continuously improve their professional literacy and knowledge level. He hopes that international students can consciously explore their professional knowledge in depth based on their personal interests, while laying a solid foundation in their professional studies. At the same time, he hopes that international students can achieve success and apply what they have learned, experience the unique charm of Chinese culture, and become ambassadors for cultural exchanges between China and the world.
