Bowen Li, is currently a research professor and doctoral supervisor at the Institute of Materials Technology/Materials Science and Engineering Department of Michigan Technological University, and the general manager of QTEK. The main research fields are inorganic material technology, metallurgical technology, material surface treatment and microbial interaction, material science of porous ceramics, mineral rock, and recycling of solid waste from mining and metallurgy. He has published more than 130 academic papers, co-published 3 monographs, textbooks, 14 main/co-edited essays (including 12 English), 4 US patents (3 authorized), 12 Chinese invention patents. Served successively as Chairman of the Material Characterization Committee of the Society of Minerals, Metals and Materials (TMS), Executive Committee Member of the EPD Branch, Member of the Powder Materials and Biomaterials Committee; Vice Chairman of the Research Committee of the Society of Mining, Metallurgy and Exploration (SME), Executive Committee Member of the Industrial Minerals Branch , Member of SME Mining Engineering Committee, Chairman of Hal W. Hardinge Award Committee, Member of "Industrial Minerals and Rocks" Manual Revision Committee, etc. Organized and presided over more than 30 international academic exchange conferences; more than 20 served as judges and chairpersons of international academic awards; and was invited to serve as editorial board members and specially invited editors for international professional academic journals.
